ESRI ArcGIS and ArcView

Georgia College & State University participates in the University System of Georgia ESRI site license for ArcGIS 10.1, provided by the Information Technology Outreach Services at the University of Georgia, and funded by the GC Student Technology Fee. ArcGIS is installed in the Information Technology Center room 124 (Library lower floor), and in the instructional labs in Arts & Sciences (254 & 255).

The campus contact for the site license is Dr. Doug Oetter. If you would like ArcGIS installed on your GC computer, contact SERVE to make a work order request.  If you already have administrative privileges to your computer, the following installation guides will help:

Launch ArcGIS through Start/Programs/ArcGIS/ArcMap.

The Geography faculty conduct ArcGIS training sessions for faculty and staff once a semester. Please email Doug Oetter if you have specific questions regarding the implementation or usage of ArcGIS. The ArcGIS Task List will help you with common procedures.

Intergraph ERDAS Imagine

GC also participates in the University System of Georgia's Leica GHEAK site license.  Currently we have 25 licenses of ERDAS Imagine 2010 available across campus.  This software is used to display, process, and analyze raster images such as aerial photography, digital orthophoto quadrangles, and satellite imagery.  The software is installed in the Information Technology Center and the Arts & Sciences instruction lab.  If you would like a copy of Imagine installed on your computer, please contact SERVE.
